Peter White BA, LL.B
Peter White knows what it takes to achieve success at high levels, having competed athletically all of his adult life, including winning the Canadian National Rowing Championships on multiple occasions, and he applies that knowledge and discipline in his daily law practice.
Peter loves this town and is also actively involved in the community, volunteering for various charitable organizations, including as a Section Chair for The United Way campaign, as a Director on the Boards of The Thunder Bay Historical and Museum Society and the Heritage Advisory Committee (a committee of Council of the City of Thunder Bay), Chair of the Board of the Lake Superior Ski District – Cross Country, and a member of the Executive of Cross Country Ontario. In addition, he brings a wealth of related and general experience to his practice, including in the realms of business, the arts, social programs, and others.
Peter’s Experience
Peter White was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1994. He graduated from the University of Victoria with a B.A, majoring in Psychology, in 1987, and completed his law degree, also at The University of Victoria, in 1992. He has worked at law firms in London England, and Toronto, where he articled with a major firm, following which he has worked in Thunder Bay as a lawyer for over 20 years, working primarily in the area of personal injury and insurance related law.
Peter has extensive experience in all types of personal injury litigation, including motor vehicle, motorcycle, and snowmobile accidents, disability claims, other negligence claims such as slip and fall incidents, and has experience in employment law as well. He has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Ontario Court of Justice, Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, and the Canada Pension Plan Disability Review Tribunal.
